On our last day in Oregon we took a small road trip in the vicinity of O’Brien. Our first stop was the Monarch Sanctuary where a group is working on keeping a group of these magnificent butterflies safe from chemicals and other hazards. It was an interesting visit.

We then took a side trip up a Forest Service road into the nearby mountains. Some great views and I got my gravel road fix. Most of the trip was through a forest fire area from a couple of years ago, which is struggling to recover. Going to miss Oregon.
