We had a nice time at Bridgeport. The resevoir was very low; however, it is used for irrigation and it is Fall. In the Spring the lake is high enough that the marina is open for boating and fishing. This year it 0pened for only two weeks before the water was gone. This makes the future of this campground bleak as the owner needs the cash flow from both to keep things going. We have seen this often in our travels this summer where the prolonged drought has driven so many small businesses out of business or left them severly diminished. The whole time we were here you could smell the smoke from nearby wild fires.
The excitement of the stay was the first day of deer hunting season. A threesome of fellow campers bagged a big male Mule deer. Cautionary note on the pictures: deer being skinned, and cleaned out for later processing. Graphic.
